More Than Just a Transfer: Travel Between Cities While Discovering Japan

Turn your travel day into a highlight of your trip. We provide seamless, door-to-door private transfers between Tokyo, Mt Fuji, Kyoto, and Osaka, with the freedom to stop and explore along the way.

The Better Way to Move Between Cities

Taking the Shinkansen is famous, but the reality for families often involves dragging heavy suitcases through crowded stations with your right hand holding your childs hand, the left hand on your suitcase-with the extra duffle bag on top, whilst keeping your eyes for your other family members, walking into people coming from the opposite direction, fellow tourists with suitcases, or the Japanese salarymen and women heading to work during peak hour, searching for elevators that are far away, and struggling to find space for luggage on the train.

With our private inter-city transfer, we remove the "logistics" and replace them with "comfort." The trip that you were dreading, could be the most fun and relaxing part of the trip!

  • True Door-to-Door Service:

We pick you up from your hotel lobby in Tokyo and drop you off at your hotel lobby in Kyoto (or vice versa). No taxis, no stations, and no heavy lifting.

  • Your Luggage Travels with You:

Forget the cost and hassle of "Takkyubin" (luggage forwarding). Your bags are securely loaded into our spacious vans and stay with you the entire journey. Your bags arrive with you to your destination, not the next day. You need not worry about how to pack your suitcases (one less worry off your back)

  • Total Privacy & Comfort:

Whether you want to take a nap, catch up on emails, sing songs together whilst snacking on local snacks and fruits, or simply enjoy the Japanese countryside, you have a quiet, private space all to yourselves.

Experience the "Real Japan" Between Cities

We pride ourselves on our deep connection to the local communities along the Tokaido route. Our drivers don't just stay on the highway; we take you to the places where local history, craftsmanship, and culture come alive.

Mt. Fuji & Lake Kawaguchi:

A classic midpoint break. We can recommend small, family-run restaurants serving Houtou (local miso noodles) with a perfect view of the mountain.

Shizuoka & Kakegawa (The Heart of Tea):

We can take you into the rolling green hills of Shizuoka to visit local tea farmers. Experience a private tea tasting or visit Kakegawa Castle, a beautifully preserved wooden castle that feels like stepping back in time.

Nagoya — Innovation & Tradition:

A great stop for families. We can arrange visits to the SCMaglev and Railway Park or the Toyota Commemorative Museum. Nagoya is also famous for its unique food culture; let us introduce you to the best Hitsumabushi (grilled eel) or Miso-katsu in the city.

Omihachiman — The Venice of Japan:

Located near Lake Biwa, this historic merchant town is one of our favorite "hidden gems." We can arrange a peaceful rowboat cruise through the ancient reeds of the canals. It is a quiet, inclusive, and authentic experience that most tourists never get to see.

Hikone Castle:

Visit one of the few original castles remaining in Japan. It’s a gentle, scenic stop on the shores of Lake Biwa that offers a much more peaceful experience than the crowded sites in the major cities.

Nara Park (Kyoto ⇄ Osaka):

A must-see for families moving between Kyoto and Osaka. We’ll guide you to the best spots in the park to meet the famous deer and see the Great Buddha at Todai-ji.

Why Our Local Connections Matter

  • Supporting Local Communities: By stopping at family-run workshops and local roadside stations (Michi-no-Eki), we ensure your visit supports the small businesses that keep Japanese traditions alive.

  • Beyond the Tourist Map: Because we are locals, we know which small festivals are happening in Shizuoka or when the flowers are blooming in Omihachiman. We share these "insider moments" with you.

  • Authentic Dining: We avoid the "tourist traps." Our drivers know the spots where local residents eat—places that are welcoming, authentic, and can accommodate your family’s dietary needs.

TokudAw prides on sanpo-yoshi: a traditional Japanese business philosophy prioritizing positive stakeholder relationships over profits. “Sampo-yoshi” is well known across Japan for consisting of three sides, “urite-yoshi (meaning “good for the seller”), kaite-yoshi (meaning “good for the buyer”), seken-yoshi (meaning “good for society”). We hope that through our tours, our guests are able to have a fruitful and fun time, we are able to contribute to the local economy, and we as a community learn from each other and progress as a whole.

Perfect for Every Group

  • For Families: No more worrying about keeping the kids together in a busy train station. They can relax and watch a movie in the back of the van. Some of our favourite activities of our young guests are car karaoke and counting cars!

  • For Business Travelers: A quiet, mobile office environment that allows you to work or rest between meetings in different cities.

  • For Large Groups: If you are traveling with 5 to 9 people, a private van is often more cost-effective and much less stressful than buying individual train tickets and coordinating everyone.
