A Relaxed Day Trip to Mt. Fuji and Hakone
Avoid the crowded buses and strict schedules. We provide a private car and a professional driver so you can see Japan’s most famous mountain at your own pace with your loved ones.
Why Book a Private Tour With Us?
Most people visit Mt. Fuji on large group tours, which often means being rushed from one spot to the next. We do things differently. We focus on giving you a smooth, stress-free day where you decide how long to stay at each location.
We also hope that when you have the time to enjoy at your own pace, you get to relax more and connect more with the environment and the people around you, allowing you to enjoy real Japan.
Feel free to discuss changes with your driver on the day itself based on your mood and energy levels, and our driver or our back end team would be happy to make suggestions.
Door-to-Door Convenience:
We pick you up at your hotel in Tokyo and bring you back at the end of the day. You won't have to worry about train transfers or navigating busy stations. It is totally alright with us if you are changing hotels during the day, we can pick you up at one hotel, bring you around with your suitcases, and then bring you back to your new hotel as well.
Flexibility is Standard:
If you love a view and want to stay longer for photos or enjoy coffee or local deserts at a store, we would be more than happy to stay with you. If you want to skip a stop because it’s too crowded, we can suggest a quieter alternative.
We Monitor the Weather:
Mt. Fuji can be difficult to see depending on the clouds. Our drivers check the mountain cameras in the morning and will talk to you about the best route for the day to give you the best chance of a clear view.
Comfortable Travel:
You’ll have a clean, modern vehicle all to yourself. It’s a long day of driving (usually 10 hours), and having your own private space to relax makes a big difference.
Places You Can Visit
You can choose the spots that interest you most. We are happy to help you plan the best order for the day:
Lake Kawaguchi:
Famous for the "Classic Fuji" reflection and the beautiful flowers at Oishi Park. We recommend Hana Terrace, a new premise next to Oishi Park with a cute washi-souvenir store, local dessert store, cafe, pizzeria with the same stunning views at Oishi Park. Oishi Park, however, does have a swing and slide which makes it perfect for families with young children who prefer to run around.
Chureito Pagoda:
The iconic red pagoda overlooking the mountain (note: this involves some stairs, so we can suggest an alternative if you prefer).
Oshino Hakkai:
A traditional village with crystal-clear ponds fed by mountain springs.
Hakone Ropeway & Lake Ashi:
Great for families; you can take a cable car over volcanic vents and a pirate boat cruise across the lake.
The Hakone Open-Air Museum:
This is widely considered the best museum for families in Japan. It isn't a "quiet" museum; it's a massive outdoor park where kids can run.
Narukawa Art Museum (For the Perfect View of Mt Fuji, the red torii gates of Hakone Shrine and Lake Ashi):
This is a traditional art museum, but it has one specific draw for families. It has a massive glass window that looks out over Lake Ashi and Mt. Fuji. If the kids are getting tired, the museum has a very comfortable lounge area where you can sit and enjoy the view together. This is also a great place to rest on a rainy day.
Gotemba Outlets:
A popular stop for shopping with a great view of the mountain in the background.
